Dignities: It has no place in the traditional table of dignities.
Discovered in 1781, Uranus was added to astrology later. What it describes is sudden and irreversible rupture: the break that comes once it becomes clear that a structure can no longer hold.
Because it stays seven years in a sign, its sign does not describe a personal trait. It becomes personal only through the house it occupies and the aspects it makes to the personal planets.
Its best-known transit is the Uranus opposition: around ages 40 to 42, Uranus reaches the point exactly opposite its natal position. This is the astrological counterpart of the so-called midlife crisis, and its theme is usually the question "how much of my life is really mine?"

House placement: the area where unexpected change and a disregard for rules gather.
