Blend the extremes and find your own measure. Patience and healing.
Temperance upright
Blend the extremes and find your own measure. Patience and healing. The 22 Major Arcana cards describe thresholds rather than everyday choices. When one turns up, the question usually belongs to a bigger cycle in your life.
Temperance reversed
Imbalance, excess, impatience.
A reversed card is not automatically bad news. It can mean the upright meaning is weaker, turned inward, or flipped; the cards around it tell you which.
In love and relationships
Two different temperaments finding a shared measure. Not the extremes, the blend.
Work and money
Patience and fine-tuning. A step taken in a hurry will have to be taken back.
Advice
You find the right ratio by experimenting. Balance isn't a destination; it's constant adjustment.
Is Temperance yes or no?
Yes. Its yes depends on measure: if the right mix is found, it works. If you're asking about an extreme, all or nothing, it won't back you.
Astrological correspondence
In the Golden Dawn system, which the Rider-Waite-Smith deck was drawn within, Temperance corresponds to Sagittarius.
