Look for the answer in silence and in your inner voice, not out in the world.
The High Priestess upright
Look for the answer in silence and in your inner voice, not out in the world. The 22 Major Arcana cards describe thresholds rather than everyday choices. When one turns up, the question usually belongs to a bigger cycle in your life.
The High Priestess reversed
Ignoring your intuition, staying on the surface, information kept hidden.
A reversed card is not automatically bad news. It can mean the upright meaning is weaker, turned inward, or flipped; the cards around it tell you which.
In love and relationships
What isn't said weighs more than what is. Don't rush; the other person hasn't opened up yet.
Work and money
There's information that shouldn't be shared yet, or a plan that hasn't ripened.
Advice
Stop looking for the answer outside. This card doesn't hand you information; it teaches you to listen.
Is The High Priestess yes or no?
Maybe. It holds back the answer on purpose. Either the question hasn't opened up yet, or you already know the answer and aren't admitting it to yourself. The most honest reading here is "too soon to tell."
Astrological correspondence
In the Golden Dawn system, which the Rider-Waite-Smith deck was drawn within, The High Priestess corresponds to Moon.
